Summary
Many people new to home decoration struggle with a question: which is better, wood flooring or tiles? In fact, making such a choice is pointless. A stone-plastic floor has emerged on the market, combining the advantages of both.
To my knowledge, stone-plastic flooring uses a four-layer process. Layer one: design colors using hot iron transfer technology, patterns will not fade. Layer two: primer protective layer. Layer three: anti-slip layer. Layer four: wear-resistant layer. The biggest difference from traditional wood flooring is its wear resistance and fire resistance. Due to its surface's ultra-strong wear-resistant polymer PVC wear layer, its wear resistance is the same as that of laminate flooring. Its advanced room-temperature cold pressing technology makes the flooring highly stable, unchanging under various temperatures and humidity levels, suitable for laying 200m2 of flooring without needing any floor strips. The cork underlayment enhances its sound absorption, heat insulation, and electrical insulation.
Stone-plastic flooring changes the limited colors of old-style solid wood flooring and tile patterns, freely printing colorful patterns and creating imitation wood, stone, and tile effects. Furthermore, in terms of space usage, stone-plastic flooring doesn't leave many gaps like wood flooring and tiles, making it easy to clean.
Stone-plastic flooring can be used in various climates and spatial conditions, completely breaking the limitations of wood flooring. For example, using its strong surface plasticity and various colors and patterns, it can be used as a decorative material for space background walls, or in children's rooms for a vibrant feel; its waterproof, moisture-proof, and large-area applicability allows its use in kitchens and bathrooms; its elasticity and heat insulation properties make it suitable for elderly people's rooms, creating a safer and more comfortable living environment.
Currently, there are more than a dozen stone-plastic flooring manufacturers in China, with a market share of less than 3%. In China, stone-plastic flooring is mainly used in some outdoor engineering projects and rarely in interior decoration. This is not due to the quality or application of stone-plastic, but rather to the lack of customer awareness. This material originated in Europe in the 1960s and is widely used in many homes in Europe, the United States, Japan, South Korea, etc., with a market share of about 20% and gradually increasing.
